The active ingredient in Pepper spray is OC(Oleoresin Capsicum. A search on YouTube for pepper spray and you can find many examples of how pepper spray affects individuals. We have a couple videos here of pepper spray training which is sometimes given to military personnel, police officers and security personnel. It's obvious how effective this can be against a person even when they are prepared to be sprayed. Against an unsuspecting attacker once sprayed you will have time to get away as quickly as you can and call for help. The pepper spray will stop the person from continuing their attack.
